Fitzgerald fighting for more jobs and better services for Gippsland

Fighting for jobs and better local services in Gippsland are top priorities for Liberal Party candidate for Gippsland Rohan Fitzgerald.

“People across Gippsland need to know that they’ll have a strong local voice in their corner, someone committed to stand up for them and fight for them,” Mr Fitzgerald said, as the date for the Federal by-election for Gippsland was called today.

“I will be fighting for more jobs, more industry, better health services, better schools, better roads, secure water infrastructure and safer communities across our great electorate.

“I won’t be afraid to lock horns and kick up a fuss if it means job creation and getting the services we need.”

Mr Fitzgerald said that Gippsland needed someone who would speak up for the community.

“We don’t need another Rudd puppet; we need a fighter,” he said.

Mr Fitzgerald is committed to securing Gippsland’s industry for the future and protecting jobs in the power industry, oil and gas industry, the forestry industry and the farming community.

“I’ll be fighting to continue to grow a viable, clean power industry right here. We all know how important growth is for everyone’s jobs in the region.”

He also said that he would act to secure better services across the electorate.

“People everywhere are telling me how much they need someone to stick up for them and deliver better services in Gippsland,” he said.

“I’ll be working to secure better GP access, more doctors, much needed school upgrades, better roads, more water, a thriving tourism sector, more police and better security in the neighborhoods in which we live. We have had enough of Labor taking us for granted.”
